Dr. Brittany Fleming is a faculty member at Slippery Rock University (SRU), currently as an Assistant Professor of Digital Media Communication. She is also adviser to student media organizations The Rocket and WSRU-TV. Fleming received her B.S. in Communication and Media Studies, her M.A. in Adult Education and Communications Technology and her PhD in Communications Media and Instructional Technology all from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). Currently, Fleming has taught public speaking, video production, television studio production, audio production and television production.
Fleming is an incredible role model for all of her students. She faced adversity throughout much of her life, but she came out on the other side and is leading a fulfilling career in higher education and teaching about one of her passions: broadcast journalism and digital media. Because Fleming is someone we all know and appreciate, and because Fleming has struggled throughout her life, I believe her story fits all areas of newsworthiness.
